My HR and leadership career has spanned the last 20 years, most recently serving as VP of People for Birmingham, AL, award-winning technology company, Daxko. Before that I spent 10 years at one of the nation's largest direct mail organizations, MSpark, serving in a variety of HR leadership roles including Director of Recruiting and Director of HR. 

Throughout my HR leadership career I have led recruiting, training and development, benefits, and employee relations functions.  In addition, as a member of an executive leadership team, I participated in making company-wide operations decisions, merger and acquisitions strategies and, naturally, corporate People Strategies.

As a leader in growth organizations I've:

  • Achieved double-digit top line year-over-year revenue increasing revenue 325%

  • Helped companies increase headcount up to 233%

  • Successfully reduced recruiting cost by up to 30%

  • Led teams from 4-60 people.  

  • Led all HR functions for multi-state organizations, including one with employees over 27 states.

  • Been a decision-maker in a variety of merger and acquisition events, including product, company, and equity partnerships.  

  • Maintained corporate wide employee engagement scores of 4.3 (on a 5-point scale).


Throughout my career, companies I led gained local and national recognition as employers-of-choice including, The Great Place To Work Institute"50 Best Small and Medium Sized Companies" in the US, Achiever's "50 Most Engaged Workplaces in the US", The Birmingham Business Journal's "Best Places to Work, as well as "Best Company for Working Families, and "50 Companies We Admire". 


In addition to my HR experience, I am a national speaker and write for I am also a contributor at, host several talent management video series and contribute to, Saba, Jellyvision and SHRM conference blogs. I've been recognized as a Top HR Innovator and The Top HR Executive for Medium Sized Companies by the Birmingham Business Journal, and love to give back to Birmingham by serving on the board of the local SHRM chapter.

And if you are interested: I hold a BFA in theatre performance from the University of Southern Mississippi and obtained a Master’s in HR Management from the University of Alabama. In addition, I am SHRM -CP and HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certifications, and am a charter member of the Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals. 


I am addicted to TV, love to cry at movies, think wine and a wheel of Brie make a well-balanced dinner, and sing in my car daily. My husband and cat are the Yin to my Yang.
